One year since he was called to Ghana

Hi Mom!

My package is here, but it's in another apartment.  I'm getting it on the 8th.   This week was pretty good.  We have 2 baptisms on SundayElder Friday and I kind of hit a rough spot in our relationship this week.  We are trying to work it out. Man, I can't believe that its been one year since I opened my call. It's gone so fast!

So, I was proselyting in my area this week when I happened to look at the side of the street. For some reason a Ghanaian was watching the Crocodile Hunter, and then I remembered that snake dad caught recent and I got a bit choked up. Dad has always been my hero growing up and I remember how we used to watch Crocodile hunter together.

We went to the Temple this week, and we brought our recent convert to the temple. She thought it was incredible!

Mom I've been thinking a lot and I realized that with Connor going on his Mission around the same time and school starting up, Dad coming to Ghana with me is next to impossible. You don't need to worry about it.

I love you guys to the moon and back forever

I kinda feel like he needs a hug!  I hope some mama over there will do that for me.  Good things are happening, but he seems a little down.  Or he could be just fine and I'm an overly sensitive mom!   Oh well - extra prayers never hurt anyone.  ;)

By the way - I don't think his clothes fit anymore!  Those pants are so baggy!!  Guess I better put some money in his account so he can buy some that fit.

Man, I love this kid!!

Week 38

Hey Mom!
Another week down. This week was pretty quick. My companion and I are doing well.  We are teaching right now from 11:00am to 9:00pm each day, so we are working hard.

We went to a devotional in Accra on Friday with Elder Ullises Soares. It was a very good and spiritual devotional and afterward I went up to him and talked to him. I thanked him for his talk. He ask my name and where I was from. He said he used to live in Draper. He is a very sweet man. I also talked to Elder Curtis and Elder Vinson of the Seventy. So yeah, it was really cool!

Also, Elder Ferrin caught Malaria. He's spent this week recovering. He's getting better though. Our greenie is doing well.  He went out with us this week and today is his birthday.
We are going to the temple on Wednesday, so we are hoping to get some of our recent converts there.

I Love you guys and pray for you each and everyday.

P.S.  The rain season is coming.  Also, it's not uploading my pics right now

Elder Soares came to talk to us at a Stake Conference in December and we absolutely loved him and the wonderful way he shared his message.  It's so much fun to know that Sean has now heard from him and seemed to enjoy him just as much.

I was able to have a bit of a facebook conversation with him right after I received his letter.  He is doing well and loves it there!  He also promises that he is doing everything he needs to so he can hopefully avoid Malaria or any of the other "fun" diseases he could get!

Love that boy!!!

8 1/2 months!

He wanted to get a suit for special occasions.  Those are some pretty GREEN walls.  And it looks like even in the city, they sleep under their mosquito nets.

Hi Mom!
So, I am the king of forgetting stuff because another thing I was going to ask for in the next package is a ton of Warheads. I want them for 2 reasons.
1. I miss sour candy
2. Ghanaian kids and adults always ask for sweets, so I might as well get some enjoyment out of it. (dirty trick!)

This week was OK.  We had a lot of appointments fall through, but we have 2 new missionaries in the Great and Spacious apartment. Elder Ferrin from Pleasant Grove and Elder Christoffersen from Idaho. Ferrin has about 3 months left and Christofferson has been in field one week. I am helping train him, so some pretty big developments there.

I got my suit! I will attach a picture. Very handsome!  No package yet. Hopefully I will get it soon. The name of the game I need you to send is Book of Mormon Battles.
Not much else going on just grindin' each day out and writing the records.

I love you guys so much! I work as hard as I can for you guys.

It was so wonderful to talk to him last week on Mother's Day.  He was at some member's home hanging out with a couple of darling twin boys.  Just like home!  He took time to talk to everyone individually and gave us all some great counsel and advice.  He is growing, changing and learning so much.  We are so grateful for the "Gospel University" he is attending.  There never was a better school.  He is doing wonderful and loves Ghana and the people there!  8 1/2 months down!

A quick email before we get to see him!!

Hey mom,
I'm so sorry you were not feeling well.  Tell Connor "happy birthday" for me. I miss all of you guys so much. I can't wait see you guys on Sunday.  We will probably contact you at 7:00 to 8:00 my time.  I can't wait see you guys.

This week was really good. We confirmed our 3 baptisms and then our focus is turned Abigail's sister and husband.  My companion and I are getting along great. This is the last week of the transfer, so we will see if he goes or stays.

I'm doing good. We found a gym right by our apartment, so I'm working out every morning. I heard the new Jungle book was really good. I cant wait to see it when I go home.

I will see you guys on Sunday!

Love you with my everything!
